The Crystal Mountain

The Crystal Mountain (28° 26′ E and 27° 39′ N) between the oasis Bahariya and Farafra, northern of the White Desert, Egypt.

The Crystals are probably Barite (Schwerspat, BaSO₄) and/or Calcite crystals (CaCO₃). The hill was opened during works at the road from Farafra to Bahariya by accident and destroyed in part.

The hill is not a paleokarst cave with columnar-shaped stalagmites. It is a subvolcanic vault, which was emerged probably during the Oligocene age. The visible layers are e.g. White Desert limestone of the Khoman Fm.* (Late Cretaceous age), as well as a younger coal seam and hydrothermal impregnated reddish to brownish ferruginous layers. The strata are broken or brecciated and intensely with each other folded.

It is to be ascertained intense heat. The coal seam e.g. was transformed to anthracite. The crystals have increased out of climbed hydrovolcanic solutions. The hot solutions were high concentrated with BaSO and/or CaCao, which had been solved from the sediments. The solutions have penetrated into all cavities. After cooling of the solutions the crystals could increase. It were formed columns or round domes with crystals within.

The Barite veins are widely distributed to the south of Gebel El Hafhuf which is composed of a rock sequence including sandstone, shale, limestone, phosphatic limestone and phosphatic calcareous sandstone. This succession is capped by the Oligo-Miocene basaltic sheet which takes the form of open circle of about 20 m thickness.

Black Kyanite is a stone of such high vibrations that is affects the aura of anyone within its presence. I have to be honest and state that this is one of my favorite grounding crystals. As a healers, I found this stone to be the only one that actually keeps my energy entirely grounded while offering protection and healing.  Another great thing about this stone is how it balances the yin and yang energies. It is a great crystal that reacts quickly to opening the Earth Star Chakra, which is completed after it finishes the removing all the issues related to the Root Chakra.

Tip: When buying a Black Kyanite try not to get Black Kyanite confused for Black Tourmaline. To help distinguish the difference, Black Kyanite will most often have the appearance of a hand-held fan. The image above is exactly what it should look like. Also, it will never come as a large crystal. And to be 100% sure, most Black ‘ will have white crystals growing from it. They range from about 1″ in size to  4″.

It not only grounds spiritual energy, but it also energizes the body. This is a great stone for healers. Its ability to cleanse and open the Earth Star Chakra will remove negative energy from the subtle bodies by pushing all that excess energy down into the Earth and replacing it with positive energy. It opens the door that leads into the sub-conscious mind for an exploration of past-lives, as well as finding the reason for incarnating into this lifetime. Moments of Synchronicity

Feel where you would like to be mentally then you may arrive physically. The universe has a sense of humor that I can’t seem to one up. Long story short, 3 things I never do led to this moment of peace.

1. Randomly add someone from fb,

2. Volunteer to meet the person I just added &

3. Shoot that person for free.

Following intuition can be far from what you would normally do but if you listen it can lead you to where you didn’t see or feel yourself arriving. When I saw Shante make an update about being in Atlanta on a cross country journey something told me to leave a comment/invitation for a photo shoot. Due to the weather being rainy for the next couple days we decided to meet same day.  We coordinated in little five points and the adventure began! The first stop was the crystal shop that I always see and never go in then we made our way back to the park for a impromptu photo session.  Along the way Shante’s son displayed his directing skills. From organizing random crowds of people to the casual dog walker. Everyone seemed to comply effortlessly. 
It was definitely an expected/unexpected connection! We spoke about a wide array of topics like her plan to relocate somewhere amazing,  plans for the future, entheogen experiences and getting a camera for her son!   After Shante’s son proved he was good via Iphone photos I handed him my camera and let him take a quick shot of his mother and the one below is what he captured. Selenite

Selenite, satin spar, desert rose, and gypsum flower are four varieties of the mineral gypsum; all four varieties show obvious crystalline structure. The four “crystalline” varieties of gypsum are sometimes grouped together and called selenite.

The etymology of selenite is through Middle English selinete, from Latin selenites, from Greek selēnitēs (lithos), literally, moonstone or stone of the moon, from selēnē (Moon). The ancients had a belief that certain transparent crystals waxed and waned with the moon. From the 15th century, “selenite” has referred specifically to the variety of gypsum that occurs in transparent crystals or crystalline masses
